This front corner shot shows the detailed brickwork on the front The brickwork was finished by painting with a coat of gray primer, an undercoat of ivory and a topcoat of railcar red. The bottom inch was drybrushed with a medium-gray to give the appearance of grime. Apparently somebody left out some oil.

This picture shows off the roof of the garage (numbering is not included in the kit). Why are there numbers on top? We don't know. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It's our local zip code. The roof was painted with a coat of gloss white enamel. The grime was wetbrushed on in a few steps. To get the paint to "stick" to the gloss coat we wetbrushed diluted gray paint a number of times until it didn't bead anymore (just kept brushing till it dried in place). Doing this on the gloss coat gives an appearance you can't quite get by using a flat undercoat.

Lastly, this side shot shows some vertical windows on the sides of the building. It gives the garage a nicer look than simple brick. Who would pay for this kind of detail on a real garage? We don't know... but it looks cool on this one. Though not shown here, the roof is detachable so you can easily place figures or vehicles inside.

Some More Details: The assembled garage has the following dimensions: the base is 7.9 inches wide, by 10.6 inches long. The garage stands 3.5 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide, and 8.25 inches long. Lettering is not included.

Assembly is required, painting is optional (recommended). This kit is composed of 18 laser-cut wood parts and requires slow epoxy (20 to 30 minute) for assembly. CA is recommended for assembling some parts.

This kit also works well as a 1/144 scale aircraft hangar.
