After doing a lot of looking i found these bases. They work great. I bought them and an assortment of flight pegs. I was very happy with the flight peg toppers. They made it easy to turn my
collection WW2 144 planes into DOW ready pieces.
Follow the instructions when using the topper, the holes are tapered for a snug hit.
I have made a second order for more bases and peg toppers. Give them a try. Rich

I bought 10 of these guys, with 2" flight pegs, and then busied myself with ebay to pick up a bunch of Axis & Allies world war II planes for the "Dawn of World War II" WoW game. I've attached them to the pegs with small magnets. Though the scales of these minis are not consistent across planes, they look absolutely fantastic. The Litko flight stands work better than those sold for the WWI version of this game by Nexus, as those flight pegs keep coming free and the biplanes fall off easily making the things hard to move around. I highly recommend giving these stands a try!

I bought the ten-pack of Wings of War flight bases with two inch pegs, toppers, and altitude markers. All parts fit together nicely. At first, my plan was to mount 1/144 scale WWII minis to the stands. That can be done, but anything bigger than a Corsair or Thunderbolt becomes too unwieldy. Luckily, I have many 1/300th, 1/285th scale Heroics and Ros, C&C, Airpower, and GHQ World War Two combat aircraft. They're all ready painted and mounted on plastic pegs with one inch, hexagonal plastic bases from another manufacturer (Gamescience?). Without drilling new holes, I am gluing the Litko pegs to my miniatures. They look good! The Litko bases that support my fighters are very stable. I will attempt to mount one of my 1/300th scale pewter B-17's as well. Shouldn't be a problem, given the broad footprint of the Litko Wings of War flight base. I am totally satisfied with the quality of the products that I mentioned. Thanks!

These are very nicely done bases and will be great to use in the game. I would probably have gone with 4.5 stars if there was that option. The bases I received are perfect size and have a nice weight to them. The have a light brown underside/backing that peels off. This might be left on as it seems to help keep the base in place on the table better than the glass smooth acrylic. My only slight issue is that the etched lines seem to be a little lighter than pictured.
