I bought these for my pre-painted plastic D&D miniatures. We use Alea Tools magnetic colored tokens to track effects (bloodied, marked, etc.) and wanted them to stick to the underside of our figs.
The peel-and-stick FlexSteel was worth every penny. The D&D figs are actually a mm or so in diameter smaller so you'll have a tiny lip around your figs but that was a non-issue for me.
If you hold the figure up in the air, 4 or more Alea tools tokens will weigh more than the magnetic effect can tolerate. However, we found in actual game-play they never fall off since you're shifting figures around.
I'll be buying more.

    Wood bases, 12/20/2007

These bases are wonderful! I, myself like the look and feel of the thick ones, and being bare wood, I can stain them with whatever base color I wish, and glue my figures to the base, not to a coat of paint! All I use is a permanent marker for the staining, to boot!
Thanks!

Excellent item to use on W40K figs. Nothing to say. Maybe that "simple Magnetic Base Bottoms" fits only for plastic figs not metal.
